On our way to Wiesthal from Aschaffenburg, Germany we stopped at this self-serve market. There are no employees staffing the store. But I am sure there are surveillance cameras to discourage theft.

In spite of the building's unique shape, the interior was well stocked with all the typical things one might expect to find in a small grocery store.

Our young friends Lisa and Ruben introduced us to this way of shopping and showed us how to check out properly.

Next stop, Wiesthal, which is located northeast of Aschaffenburg. Traveling through beautiful, forested hills, it took us about forty minutes to drive to this village from the town of Aschaffenburg.

This is the Weisthaler Hof, an inn which also houses a pub, a butcher shop, and a small grocery store. It is owned by our friend Lisa's family.

At the time of our visit, it was closed for vacation, so we were able to tour the premises. Here is an example of a clean, tidy, and comfortable room.

What a lovely place! If we weren't staying in Aschaffenburg in our rented campervan, this would have been a lovely place to stay (when they weren't closed for vacation).

Last stop - Weisthal's Catholic church. We so enjoyed walking around and exploring this small German village.
