After spending time in Norway, we left Oslo and headed south along the west coast of Sweden. We stayed in the countryside at the Kärradal-Varberg First Camp Campsite. We had a roomy pitch for our 7 meter motorhome with electricity. There was a nice reception area and shop as well as laundry facilities, which I gratefully used. I believe the structure above is a summer house.

The weather was fine and the landscape flat--perfect for cycling. Above Brian is stopping to pose for my camera. Notice the interesting style of fence. I wonder if it also serves as a snow fence. I expect the wind blows here in the winter.

Small summer houses are popular in Scandinavia including Sweden. The one above looked like the perfect summer getaway.

A variety of shrubs, trees and wildflowers decorate this seaside landscape.

We pulled over, parked our bicycles and walked out to the bay that looks west toward Denmark.

We stopped at a few trails that allowed us access to the bay, where the tide seemed to be out.

My husband Brian is noticing at how clear the water is here. This bay is part of the Baltic Sea, which has low salinity and in some locales freezes over in the winter. Below--crystal clear water over the bay's sandy floor.

Time to head back to our campsite and get busy doing laundry. Brian looks back as if to say, "Are you coming?"
