After leaving Stavanger at 11:00, we headed south to Egersund. It was only about an hour's drive, so we had lots of time to enjoy the scenery along the way.

We stopped at Steinsnes NAF Camping to see if they had any available spots. They did, and we set up next to the Bjerkreimselva River in a lovely shaded spot.

Brian is consulting the map we got at the camping park office. Because it was summer with its long days and arriving in the early afternoon, we had plenty of time for a ride into Egersund. We needed some groceries, cash, and ice cream. Really ... ice cream is a need sometimes.

Located on the river and near a fjord, Egersund is a watery place.

Of course, boating is popular in these sheltered waters. Magma Global GeoPark is located in the vicinity with its blubs of volcanic rock.

With its deep harbor, Egersund has been a productive fishing town for generations. Typical of Scandinavian towns, Egersund is clean, well kept, and bicycle friendly. Street views of Egersund ...

Only pedestrians and bicycles allowed on the street below. Such a nice feature of many Scandinavian cities. We enjoyed the peaceful town of Egersund.
